The Buddha did not teach escape from responsibility or society. He taught escape from ignorance and evil thoughts and actions. He founded not merely a religion or a therapy, he founded a quiet revolution, a total reorientation of the habits of individuals and societies that has continued to this day. ~ Robert Thurman

Om mani padme hung
My son, while on a hiking trip, took this lovely photo.
May all sentient beings be happy and have the causes of happiness.
May sentient beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.
May all sentient beings never be separated from the happiness that is free from suffering.
May all sentient beings abide in equanimity, free from attachment and detachment.
Dalai Lama Quote
Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. ~ His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama
Direction of Compassion
The problem is whether we are determined to go in the direction of compassion or not.
If we are, then can we reduce the suffering to a minimum? If I lose my direction, I have to look for the North Star, and I go to the north.
That does not mean I expect to arrive at the North Star. I just want to go in that direction. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
