In training the mind, perspective is of crucial importance. We cannot expect to transform our minds in a few minutes or even a few weeks, thinking, perhaps, that the blessings of an enlightened individual will enable us to obtain immediate results. Such an attitude is not realistic. It takes a long time, sometimes years or even decades; but if we persevere, there is no doubt we will make progress. ~ His Holiness. The 14th Dalai Lama

Once I started “watching” my thoughts . . . progress became rapid indeed.
* I recognized emotions AS THEY AROSE so that I could decide how to ACT instead of RE-ACTING.
* I heard what my “inner critic” was saying to me and could examine the truth of what it said.
* I noticed self-defeating thoughts that created unnecessary suffering.
Now, my mind is clear of non-productive thoughts most of the time . . . and ready for the tasks that I assign to it.
I am glad you are able to watch and realize…mush less suffering π
I am still in the process , a work in progress…but I am progressing:)
As always Nancy, Thank you _/!_
Oh, I’m still a Work In Progress but now I can really SEE the progress. π
